Signature Series: Revival Designs & Nicole Nichols

Nicole Nichols, owner of Revival Designs
The first time Nicole Nichols saw the red-brick exterior and quaint size, she knew she found "the one." Lovingly coined "The Norwood Charmer," the Cincinnati-area home had the potential to be a stylish, timeless space in the right hands—her hands. In the first video feature of our collaborative renovation project, the Signature Series, the Revival Designs owner walks us through her inspiration and journey to update the charming retreat.
A Beautifully Unique Kitchen:
The goal was to take conventional design and find ways to make it feel current. Case in point: stainless-steel appliances, deep blue cabinetry (a definite home decor trend in 2020), and vertically installed shiplap. Nicole used all three to add modern flair to the farmhouse sink and vintage-style bridge faucet.

Mixed Metals in the Master Bathroom:
Modern takes on classic elements continue to the master bath, which features vintage-inspired fixtures and hardware, but with a mixed-metals execution. The size of the room is small, so the heavy focus on white tiling, recessed mirror, and pedestal sink in favor of a vanity make the most of the square footage.
Space-Saving Decor for the Powder Room:
Feeling that the first floor needed an easily accessible bathroom for guests, Nicole reworked the home's original floorplan to create a powder room that was equally stylish and functional. A petite sink and coordinating faucet fit right into the half bath. The addition of a metallic-rimmed mirror was perfect for reflecting light into the petite space.
