I hung this mailbox under an overhang so it was protected as instruction state but my mail still gets terribly wet from rain. The design is not good. The only way this would work is if you hung it inside a house which would not serve the purpose of a mailbox what so ever. I called to see if I could return it and was told no I could not since it was not brand new in package.

Beautiful mailbox and easy to hang. I have it mounted directly on red cedar shingles under a covered porch. We live on the ocean and will update with how it ages/holds up to the sea air.

Within 2 weeks the copper is quite spotty and tarnished. It's a great looking mailbox, however it needs to be in a completely protected area. I am currently looking for a replacement mailbox, as this one causes my mail to be soaking wet after rain. If you have a covered porch, this would work well.

My new mailbox has been up for little over a week and the top is turning spotted black. The size is great but I'm pretty upset that the lid which is very visible is turning black. As a first order from Signature Hardware I'm pretty concerned over quality , especially for a $160 mailbox.
