I bought 3 of these just over a year ago and 1 failed. The hinge pin broke. So just ordered another and I'm hoping that the failed one was just a dud.

Another pointer- use a steel screw first if you're going into anything hard. Then replace with the brass screws. They will break.

As in a previous review, there are no instructions on how to adjust this hinge. I searched the internet and found nothing.I sent a request via the signature web page requesting info on how to adjust this hinge. I received a very fast reply that I need to pull the hinge pin and the ratchet will adjust easily. It did, but I could not re-assemble the hinge until I released the spring tension, After an entire day, with one hinge, I was able to figure out how to adjust this hinge! The hinge is very heavy and well built. Using my method, the hinge can only be adjusted OFF the door! Still looking for a possible better solution.

No instructions on adjusting the "adjustable" hinges and the screws were absolutely frustrating! Flat bladed heads with a slot thin that I didn't own a hand held screwdriver or a drill bit that would fit in the slot. The screws were only 7/8" long which doesn't seem like much given the load they are carrying. The screw / hinge opening is a #6. So finding replacements was also a challenge!
