Craftsmanship: Each stone bathtub is an individual work of art, carved from a single block of natural stone. Each block of stone has its own characteristics including color variation, veining, minor pits or flecks of minerals such as copper, silver, or gold. It is important to understand granite, marble, and travertine are natural materials and their inconsistencies should be appreciated. Much of the carving is done by master craftsmen using simple hammers and chisels. Because very little work is done with hand-held saws and polishing tools, your bathtub is a one-of-a-kind creation that you can cherish for years to come. |

Installation: Because most stone is porous, it is important to take special care of your bathtub to protect against harmful substances. Upon receiving your tub, seal with a product such as StoneTech Heavy Duty Sealer. When installing your bathtub, be careful to use silicone to seal the drain to the tub and use extra caution to keep the silicone away from the exposed tub area. Oil-based sealers or plumbers putty should never be used on your bathtub. These products will stain the stone if applied near the surface of the polished bathtub. |

Cleaning and Maintenance: After each use, wipe the bathtub dry with a soft cloth. Prevent the development of hard water deposits by cleaning regularly with a granite and marble cleaner, such as Stonetech Revitalizer Cleaner & Protector. Refrain from using acidic household cleaners, wipes with harsh chemicals, or abrasives, as these will damage stone. To retain your bathtub's natural shine, reseal your tub once or twice a year with a product such as StoneTech Heavy Duty Sealer. If staining occurs, use a standard stone and tile stain remover. For more difficult stains, apply a poultice product from StoneTech directly to the stain. |
