How to Install a Floor or Wall Register

Replacing your old floor registers and air returns is easy. All of our registers are listed on our site by air duct size, which is the industry standard. We also provide the overall dimensions for added convenience. These are particularly helpful when measuring for flush mount registers; please consult the product page for exact dimensions.

How to Install a Floor Register

Step # 1: Measure the length and width of the actual opening in the floor. This will determine your register size.

Step # 2: Fit the register into your floor. The louver frame, or bottom part of the register, will fit into the opening, while the lip of the register will sit on top of the floor.

*Flush mount registers will fit completely into the floor with no lip. See product page to check duct measurements and overall size.

How to Install a Wall Register or Air Return

Step 1: Measure the length and width of the opening in the wall. This will determine your register size.

Step 2: Mount the wall register either by tension-fitting or by securing provided screws in the front lip. See product pages for details on specific registers.
