There
are many finish options for our kitchen and bath fixtures.
Here is a list of finishes with descriptions and manufacturer's
directions for care. Click on a thumbnail below to view a

Chrome:
The most popular finish. Typically, chrome finishes cost
less and are more durable than others. Chrome is highly
reflective and will require frequent cleaning to remove
water spots. Clean with soap and water on a soft cloth.
Abrasive cleaners will cause surface scratches in the
finish, do not use. |
 |
Antique
Brass: Solid brass that has an antique, aged appearance.
This finish was popular in the 1970s, and has made a recent
comeback due to high demand. Matches most home décor
well. Abrasive cleaners will cause surface scratches in
the finish, do not use. |
 |
Polished
and Lacquered Brass: Solid brass fixtures that are
polished and buffed to a high sheen. A coat of lacquer
is then applied at the factory to give the surface a coating
that will restrict tarnishing. This finish should be cleaned
with a soft cloth only. Never use any solvent based cleaner
or abrasives. Plumbers putty should not be used on these
fixtures as it will affect the finish. |
 |
Supercoat
Brass: Developed by Sign of the Crab. The Supercoat
finish is a two part epoxy, applied electrostatically
and baked on to solid brass fixtures that are polished
and buffed to a high sheen. It is absolutely guaranteed
for as long as the original purchaser owns their home.
Sign of the Crab will re-coat, not replace, at any time.
Supercoated items should be wiped gently with a soft cloth
after each use. Plumber's putty should not be used for
installation. Use of plumber's putty, detergents or any
type of abrasive cleansers will void the warranty of the
finish as they may cause scratching and deterioration
of the coating. |
 |
Polished
/ Unlacquered Brass: Unlacquered or uncoated natural
brass is a warm but high maintenance finish. Metal polishes
will help preserve the finish. All unprotected brass will
tarnish in time. Abrasive cleaners will cause surface
scratches in the finish, do not use. |
 |
Bright Copper:
Solid brass that has been plated with copper and polished to a high shine. Lacquer coated to prevent tarnishing. Abrasive cleaners will cause surface scratches in the finish, do not use. |
 |
Antique Copper: Solid brass that has been plated with copper. The copper is then hand-rubbed to create a brushed look. Finally the copper is lacquer coated to prevent tarnishing. A striking, rich-looking finish. Abrasive cleaners will cause surface scratches in the finish, do not use. |
 |
Polished
Nickel: The traditional finish. Polished nickel was the original finish that was available over solid brass faucets. At first glance, polished nickel appears similar to chrome, but the finish actually has a much deeper color and warm reflective properties. Abrasive cleaners will cause surface scratches in the finish, do not use. |
 |
Matte
/ Brushed Nickel: Is our polished nickel finish that
is hand-brushed to highlight the beauty of the nickel.
Matte nickel has low reflective properties. Therefore
smudges and water spots are not as noticeable. Abrasive
cleaners will cause surface scratches in the finish, do
not use. |
 |
Satin
Nickel: Similar to matte nickel, satin nickel has
a brushed appearance, but is glossier or more wet-looking.
Abrasive cleaners will cause surface scratches in the
finish, do not use. |
 |
Oil
Rubbed Bronze: An elegant finish that has a rich,
red-brown hue. Highlights and lowlights may vary from piece to piece. Will fit a variety of home décor.
This finish hides water spots and requires minimal care.
Clean with soap and water when needed. Abrasive cleaners
will cause surface scratches in the finish, do not use. |
