All
tub drains should be installed by a qualified, licensed plumber.
Use Teflon tape on all threaded connections. View our Water
Supply Line Tips for help on supply line installation and
instructions.
- Shut
off the water supplies at the valves before installation.
- Rough-in 1-1/2" male IPS with 1/2" pipe above the finished floor. Use compression coupling attached to 1/2" above the floor.
- All tubing is 1-3/8" replicating the original size of these drains. Use 1-3/8" x 1-1/2" reducing washer to connect drain to 1-1/2" pipe.
- The
rough-in for the drain hole on the floor is a plumb line from
the center of the roll on the tub to the floor.
- Drain
tubing can be cut to size using hack saw or tubing cutter.
- Extended
drains must be used on all new clawfoot tubs and acrylic clawfoot
tubs.
- Old
cast iron clawfoot tubs typically take standard length drains.
To be sure, purchase extended drain and cut to size.
