Wood Finishes
These Whittington vanities feature a trio of absolutely phenomenal wood finishes. All three are classic tones designed with two basic functions in mind: first, to make the vanity a vital element of your bathroom decor, to make it stand out amidst the millions of bathrooms across the country, to make it shine as brilliantly as the rest of your ideal home. Just as important, however, is to keep the vanity true to the humble roots of traditional craftsmanship and composition. You want your bathroom to be as indistinguishable from that of centuries-old homes as modern technology will allow, and these finishes are perfectly suited to that purpose. You will find a sample of each of the three below to help you in making your decision.
Cherry: A richly toned finish, possessing a complex combination of browns and reds that gives the vanity its lustrous sheen while maintaining the grainy, natural texture of hardwood. With the sun on its ridges and recesses, a cherry vanity must be seen in person to be truly appreciated, but even photography will allow some of that beauty to shine through.
Oak: A bright and gentle brown, lighter than either of the other two but easiest to coordinate with other pieces due to its neutral tone. Because of its relatively light color, the oak finish reveals the grain of the wood most clearly, making it a great choice for more natural decor.
Mahogany: The deepest brown of the three, mahogany is also most variously affected by light, and possesses the widest range of shades depending on the angle at which it is touched. Its dark, regal appearance is equally striking with any top, marble or china, and against any wall, painted or papered.
Marble Finishes
In addition to this fantastic array of cabinet finishes, many vanities can be crowned by one of a pair of marble tops, each of which is a smooth, timeless shade that fits wonderfully with any of the three wood tones.
Orchid: The Orchid tops are predominantly white, but with strands of darker and occasionally pinkish tints. The resulting mix offers a more interesting and unique appearance than pure white might be able to. Orchid marble also highlights the smoky threads particular to that stone, from which the marbled pattern derives its name.
Black: A classic choice, black requires little explanation. Its ability to capture nearby light and to give off a brilliant sheen regardless of its surroundings has made it a popular top for generations. No matter how you plan to accessorize your vanity, a black top is not likely to disappoint.
