Erlanger, Kentucky (March, 2007) - Northern Kentucky-based retailer Signature Hardware has been recognized by the Cincinnati USA Partnership for Economic Development as a 2006 Growth Company. The initiative, directed by the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, honored Signature Hardware for its dedication to the economic vitality of the Cincinnati area.
The award was given to more than 200 local businesses based on national criteria measuring investment, square footage and new and retained jobs. Working closely with local communities, the Partnership identified new-to-the region and retention projects that made an investment in Cincinnati. Criteria analysis was performed by the Economics Center for Education and Research at the University of Cincinnati to determine overall regional contribution and impact.
Signature Hardware's contributions to the area include the commission of an 86,000 square foot operating facility, existing job retention and new job addition. In late 2006, Signature Hardware moved to a larger facility in Erlanger with more room for its warehouse and fulfillment center, as well as its designer showroom and departmental offices. The company move was prompted by an ever-growing product line, an expanding consumer base, and an increasing staff roster. Product selections of Signature Hardware's house brands, Nottingham Brass and the Whittington Collection, were expanded in 2006 to include a number of new finish choices and fixture styles. Additionally, product was made available for sale to consumers nationwide from a variety of national brand names. With more than 40 employees, Signature Hardware has solidified its commitment to enriching the economic environment of the Cincinnati area and Northern Kentucky communities.
