Please
note that tub installation varies greatly. The following are
general guidelines for installing our cast iron tubs. Flooring
should be level and sound. All tubs should be installed by a
qualified, licensed plumber.
Attaching
Cast Iron Feet
Before
installing tub feet, make sure you have adequate assistance
and an 11/16" box wrench. Enclosed with the tub, you will
find a box containing the four tub feet, 4 feet bolts, spacer
washers and nuts.
- Place
the bottom of the tub so that it rests on foam approximately
twelve inches off the ground. This will allow for easy access
to all four foot mounting lugs.
- Each
tub foot is marked and the corresponding lug is marked on
the bottom of the tub. Is it important for a proper, safe
fit that the feet are matched up with the correctly labeled
lug.
- Slide
the special foot bolt onto each lug. The bolts might be snug
and could require a slight tap to slide them into place.
Note that the narrow side of the bolt should be slid in first.
- The
bolt should move within the lug so that further adjustment
can be made.
- Slide
the foot onto the bolt. Align the foot so that it is snug
against the wall of the tub.
- Hand
tighten the nut to the foot bolt so that the foot is snug
against the tub wall.
- Repeat
steps 3 - 6 for remaining feet.
- Carefully
lift tub off of padding and place on floor. Check to make
sure each foot is sitting on the floor. Finish tightening
the foot nuts with the 11/16". If floor is uneven and
tub wobbles, see step below.
- If
needed, use the spacer washers enclosed to eliminate wobble
from the tub. The foot will need to be removed. Install the
washers, one at a time between the foot and the foot bolt.
Reattach the foot and check for wobble.
