Window shutter dogs, sometimes called shutter holdbacks or tiebacks, are installed directly into the side of your home. They are used to keep your window shutters open, but can be rotated to allow them to close if needed. Shutter dogs are most often seen with movable shutters that are commonly found in older homes, but can also be added to stationary shutters for a touch of charm.
While most shutter dogs are available in traditional black or rust colored iron to preserve historical accuracy, you can add brass or bronze hardware to the inside of your windows. Sash locks allow you to add style and security, and can often be mounted to windows that open from the bottom or the side. Signature Hardware also carries matching window sash lifts with a variety of decorative designs. |
